Job Summary: Resource Centre Officer

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Position Title: Resource Centre Officer
Department: Social Services
Location: London

Job Purpose
The post holder will be expected to work supportively and collaboratively with children, young people, families and partners in meeting the identified needs of individual service users, with a strong emphasis placed on planning and appraising progress. In this regard, our primary aim is to promote growth, development and attainment of independence skills, for vulnerable young people by providing support to sustain routines in practical day-to-day matters.


    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • 1. To assist the Resource Centre Manager to receive, assess, allocate & review cases referred to the centre for supervised contact.
    • 2. To assist to assess the level of risk and /or service to be offered to users, ensuring that the highest priority work is allocated and that the safety and wellbeing of the child is secured.
    • 3. To help maintain effective working relationships with relevant statutory and independent sector agencies e.g. teachers, doctors, psychiatrists, health visitors, police officers, requiring the capacity to advice and influence as appropriate.
    • 4. To participate in reviews and meetings attended by users as well as by colleagues and representatives of other agencies, as above.
    • 5. To assist in the development and ongoing implementation of children's plans within the relevant service area.
    • 6. To help secure good outcomes for children and the most efficient use of the council's resources
    • 7. To maximise the participation of children, their families and other carers in service and care planning
    • 8. To promote equality of opportunity for users in accessing the services provided.
